Research of new materials, development of new formulations and the ongoing maintenance of compliance certifications needed by OEMs.
Types of materials we design and manufacture with Thermoplastics: Thermoplastics are a type of polymer used in a variety of applications due to their versatility, cost-effectiveness and availability. A defining characteristic of a thermoplastic is its ability to be melted and moulded at sufficient heat and reshaped multiple times without degrading. The overmolding capability of thermoplastics can also reduce the complexity of your assembly or sub-assembly, and they are often utilised to convert two parts into one.

What does the consultation process look like?
1
A customer reaches out to SRS regarding a product query.
5
Prototyping formulation and tooling.
2
Initial consultation: discuss the product, it’s application of use, the environment it operates in, and the annual volumes to evaluate the most suitable material for the product.
6
Prototype trials and refinement.
3
Second consultation: work through the design in detail with the engineering teams prior to putting together a commercial proposal.
7
Production tooling and submission of sign-off samples.
4
Commercial proposal presented and agreed
8
Production sign-off and volume manufacturing.

Manufacturing Processes
RUBBER COMPRESSION & INJECTION MOULDING
Rubber compression and injection moulding are processes used to shape rubber into precise, high-quality components through the application of heat and pressure. These methods are ideal for producing durable, custom-moulded rubber parts used in valve seats and seals, industrial machinery and consumer goods. This type of process is best suited for low-medium volume.
PLASTICS INJECTION MOULDING
Plastics injection moulding involves injecting molten plastic into a mould to create complex and detailed parts with high precision. This process is best suited for mass-producing plastic components, including housings, check valves, connectors and enclosures.
COMPOSITE OVERMOULDING (RUBBER TO METAL, RUBBER TO PLASTICS)
Composite overmoulding is a technique that combines rubber with metal or plastic substrates to create integrated components with enhanced properties. This process is ideal for producing parts that require strong adhesion and resilience, such as seals, gaskets and vibration dampening components used in a range of industrial applications.
ASSEMBLED SOLUTION OFFERINGS
Our assembled solution offerings involve combining components made from plastics, rubber, and metals into a single, cohesive product. This integrated approach simplifies supply chains and is perfect for complex assemblies in industries such as HVAC, electrical and construction, where reliable, multi-material solutions are essential.
